So, News Corp has spent $30M on The Daily iPad newspaper. But is it any good?
From the looks of it, it looks more like a step backwards jammed into a step forwards.
Does anybody really want to pay for something online (or in Apple's walled garden), that doesn't have 100% relevancy to their own lives?
The news industry needs to evolve, and start thinking of creative, stream-lined solutions. If you look at some of the most popular sites on the internet, you'll see that they are mostly single issue. If I want news, I'll go to a specialised news site. If I want tech news, I'll head over to Twitter, Reddit, Techmeme or any other site to read about news that is relevant to me.
Is there any room for an old-fashioned paper like The Daily in today's market?
I don't think so. What do you think?
